Teriyaki Chicken Steaks

I was invited to a potluck and decided to bring teriyaki chicken since chicken leg meat was on sale.

I made my own teriyaki marinade and grilled chicken legs with garlic, garnished with home-grown basil and rosemary.


Ingredients
*1 kg boneless chicken leg
*half cup Teriyaki marinade

To Make Teriyaki Sauce

Ingredients
*quarter cup soy sauce
*quarter cup gula Melaka
*quarter cup Chinese wine

Over low heat, blend all ingredients to make half cup Teriyaki sauce.

Method
1. After sauce has cooled, marinade chicken leg in Teriyaki sauce. Leave overnight in the fridge. (I usually put everything in a ziplock bag to marinade)
2. To cook, remove chicken from the marinade and lay in large oven-proof dish :
– grill
– microwave and grill (Dual grill 20 min or till cooked and skin is golden)
– Alternatively, pan-fry
